Will I be able to dance with my wedding dress?
Bustle your train, if possible, to make moving around the floor easier. Alternatively, use a dance hook (small ribbon underneath the end of your train) and hold this in your left hand. Holding the train of your wedding gown in your left hand, keeps your right arm free if your partner turns or spins you, making it easier to dance!
If you haven’t chosen your dress yet, try the ‘high low’ dress where the hem is slightly higher at the front than the back.
Shorten the train. If you fell in love with a dress that has an extravagant train, you don’t have to commit to its length. Your alterations expert can often easily shorten the train on your wedding gown to be more manageable.
A dress with a detachable train is also a great idea.
Wedding dresses with long sleeves might restrict your arm movements! Opting for detachable sleeves can provide you with the stylish look you are looking for while allowing you to remove the sleeves to dance the night away.
If you’ve already fallen in love with a wedding dress that will be unforgiving, change into a second reception dress. Dancing in a wedding dress can be difficult, which is a very valid excuse for an outfit change.
Tell your dance teacher if there are any movements you won’t be able to master based on the style and fit of your dress. Your dance teacher can consider this for your wedding dance choreography.
As you can see, you don’t have to sacrifice your wedding dance moves – you just need to prepare a little. #perthweddingdancelessons #perthweddings #weddingwa #perthengaged #weddingdresses #styleofweddingdress #weddingdancetips
